Main page

4RM is a division of 1AK-GROUP holding company, which combines production of trading equipment, development of digital platforms and export network. Its structure includes the factories 4RM Systems (Vitebsk), 4RM Refrigeration (Stolbtsy), the digital division 4RM Tech and the trading division 4RM Trading.

4RM has evolved from a manufacturer of trading equipment to a developer of a scalable digital ecosystem. The 4RM Systems plant (Vitebsk) produces shelving, self-service checkouts, self-service checkout areas, and postamats. The 4RM Refrigeration plant (Stolbtsy) specializes in refrigeration equipment. All elements are combined into a digital management system - from the hardware layer to analytics and UX.

A digital ecosystem, not a set of solutions

The concept that 4RM realizes goes beyond hardware manufacturing. Every device - from the checkout to the mailbox - becomes an element of the digital ecosystem. In this approach, software is not secondary, but defining: it connects hardware, analytics, customer behavior and business objectives into a single architecture.

The key transformation is in the logic of the products. Where checkout or scales used to be separate devices, today they act as “digital nodes” capable of recognizing, responding and integrating.

STEMMA's modular AI platform: the core of smart retailing

Developed by 4RM's IT team, the STEMMA platform has become the center of the ecosystem. It is the basis for the development of products based on neural networks and computer vision technologies working in key areas:

STEMMA Recognition - the module automatically identifies goods by image in the checkout or self-service checkout area. This minimizes the human factor, reduces losses from incorrect punching and eliminates part of fraudulent schemes.

STEMMA Stock - intelligent shelf control and monitoring of out-of-stock situations. Utilizes video streams and computer vision algorithms to instantly detect display irregularities, missing SKUs and understocked shelves.

STEMMA Customer (Traffic) - the module provides aggregated data about store visitors. The information is used in an anonymized form and allows you to accurately understand the audience structure and loading dynamics. The system allows you to analyze data for a selected period and form a holistic picture of visitor behavior.

STEMMA Customer (Heat Map) - a module of computer vision and behavioral analytics designed to track customer movements in the sales area and form interactive heat maps. It allows you to identify inefficiently utilized space, adjust the placement of promotions and strengthen conversion zones.

STEMMA Customer (Queue Monitoring) - AI-module for monitoring crowds at checkouts and service points. It estimates the length of queues, determines waiting times and offers automatic opening of additional checkouts to reduce the load and improve service levels.

STEMMA Worker - the system provides objective data on staff performance and infrastructure utilization.  AI-module records when an employee leaves the workplace at the checkout, culinary department, info counter, records the time of absence and can notify the manager.

STEMMA Metrics - A single analytical center that combines data from all modules in a user-friendly interface for managers, analysts and operational managers, the panel displays key performance indicators of a retail outlet in real time.

Infrastructure: checkouts, scales, postamats

Digital architecture is not limited to stores. 4RM offers software and hardware to manage the entire cash register and logistics infrastructure:

SOVA - Software for managing and monitoring self-service scales with integration into retail infrastructure.

LOCCA - Software platform for managing mailboxes integrated with logistics and retail systems. It provides real cell tracking, parcel distribution, load schedule management and integration with logistics platforms. Supports flexible interaction scenarios with couriers, shoppers and warehouses. Increases reliability and speed of click&collect transactions.

Retail is becoming a part of urban logistics: automated pickup points, flexible delivery scenarios, vendor-less stores - these are not the future, but solutions that 4RM is already implementing in PoC (Proof of Concept) projects.
