Mayak Maxi hyperdiscounter, Belarus

The “Mayak Maxi” hyperdiscounter—the largest store in the “Mayak” chain, with an area of over 2,500 square meters—opened at the Diamond City shopping center in Minsk. The store offers thousands of product items: groceries, prepared foods, ready-to-eat meals, a wide selection of dry goods, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, coffee, and pet food. The sales floor features an in-house bakery, a deli, a pastry section with cakes and pastries, and a pizzeria.

To equip the largest store in the Mayak Maxi chain, the 4RM team combined the production capacities of two 4RM Systems plants (checkout systems and shelving systems) and 4RM Refrigeration (modern refrigeration equipment). This approach enabled the implementation of a comprehensive solution.

Solutions

Checkout Area

For the hyperdiscounter’s checkout area, Nova checkout counters manufactured by 4RM Systems were installed, featuring an integrated impulse purchase zone. The updated design of the Nova line provides an ergonomic workspace for cashiers and enhances customer convenience. Key features of the Nova booths include LED lighting of the work area, a four-layer antistatic transporter, the option to choose between a wide or narrow basin, and an expanded range of accessories for adaptation to the store’s layout. 

In the self-service area, 4RM installed 12 Leda self-service checkouts with thoughtful ergonomics, ensuring convenience for shoppers and high operational efficiency for the retail outlet.

Shelving Equipment

Comprehensive shelving solutions were implemented for effective product display in the sales floor of the “Mayak Maxi” hyperdiscounter:

• Wall shelving and island display shelving units have been installed in the main sales area, ensuring layout flexibility and maximum utilization of the sales floor’s usable space. 
• In the general merchandise department, an island display system was installed using presentation baskets and additional hanging baskets, allowing for the convenient placement of goods of various categories and sizes.
• The shelves are height-adjustable in 25.4 mm increments, allowing the space to be adapted for goods of any size.
• For fresh fruits and vegetables, a refrigerated display area has been set up in the sales floor, featuring wall shelving with hanging baskets, an island-style produce display, and presentation baskets that facilitate the convenient display of seasonal and perishable items. The shelving is finished in RAL-6018 (green) to enhance product visibility and presentation. All shelving is equipped with bag holders.
• For the dairy, meat, and seafood section, a refrigerated room has been set up, featuring wall shelving and island shelving units with various shelf and hanging basket configurations.

All shelving units are equipped with height-adjustable shelves, feature a modern design using high-quality materials with a damage-resistant coating, ensuring their reliability and long-term service life.

The store also features cigarette dispensers manufactured by 4RM, designed to organize the sale of tobacco products in accordance with the modern standards of major tobacco companies.

Refrigeration equipment

To store and display refrigerated products in the hyperdiscounter’s sales floor, refrigerated showcases from the Belarusian manufacturer SOOO “Freor Refrigeration” have been installed:

• The Pluton refrigerated showcase for showcasing  desserts and cakes. The showcase offers ample product capacity and convenient access for shoppers.
• The compact IDA refrigerated showcase—this model is designed for quick “on-the-go” purchases and helps organize additional refrigerated displays without complex store layout changes. Thanks to its transparent side panels and built-in wheels, the showcase works well as a mobile tool for seasonal promotions and special offers.
• Neptun Solaris vertical refrigerated showcases are installed in the sales area—for beverages, ensuring convenient display and optimal temperature control.
• Diona Solaris under-counter refrigerated showcases with tall, straight tempered glass. These showcases are designed for the display and sale of meat and fish products, cheeses, deli items, salads, and prepared foods.

4RM Refrigeration’s refrigeration equipment is distinguished by its energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. The refrigerated showcases provide excellent product visibility and help boost sales through attractive product presentation.

Accessories

To fully equip the “Mayak Maxi” sales floor, the 4RM team also installed a wide range of additional equipment:

• Packaging accessories (bag holders) located in the self-service areas.
• Accessories for shelving attachments—hooks, grids, price tag holders, etc.

For customer convenience, two coffee modules from 4RM have been installed at the entrance. These are professional solutions for creating a coffee zone, increasing customer loyalty, and enhancing service quality.

Result

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the 4RM team, the largest store in the “Mayak” chain has been equipped with functional and modern fixtures that meet the requirements of effective retail.

4RM’s modular solutions made it possible to efficiently organize the retail space, optimize customer flow paths, and improve staff convenience. Carefully selected equipment—from wall shelving to refrigeration units—ensures high-quality product presentation and effective zoning.

“Mayak Maxi” represents a significant milestone both in the development of the “Mayak” chain and in 4RM’s portfolio of completed projects.
